At the beginning of the NPR Next Generation Radio Project, my goal was to hone in on my multimedia skills and create a story that I was proud of. Looking back at this experience, it exceeded my expectations in every way.

I was able to improve on my skills in audio editing, conducting interviews and doing on-camera work, among many other things.

Not only did I get to work with an incredible mentor, Michelle Faust Raghavan, but the entire team on the project was so helpful with every assignment. They are full of knowledge and at the ready to give tips on my assignments.

The week of the Next Generation Radio Project was hectic at times, but it was so fulfilling to cross off each assignment and finish off the project strong.

I feel as if with each day I made immense growth, not only as a journalist, but as a person.

Thank you to Doug Mitchell and Traci Tong for the opportunity to learn, grow, and work on this amazing project.

Thank you to my mentor Michelle Faust Raghavan for guiding me through this whole process and offering the best advice that I’ll be sure to use later in my career.

Getting accepted to work on the Next Generation Radio project was an honor. I’ll never forget this invaluable experience.
